Brazilian telecoms solutions provider Neger Telecom expects to start targeting SMEs in urban areas of the country, company research and innovation manager Rodrigo Hodgson told BNamericas.

"We are launching a solution that offers continuity in case urban broadband networks fail," Hodgson said.

Neger's 3G-based router enables companies to have service continuity when ADSL or fiber optic networks have technical problems, the executive added. "This product works with mobile operators' 3G modems. We are in the process of defining our channel network for this contingency solution, and the product will be commercially available in November," he said.

In the corporate segment, Neger also deploys interface systems for mobile telephony.

In rural areas, the company mainly offers voice, data and internet solutions. For other isolated areas of the country, the company also deploys mobile and fixed base stations for telecoms services through satellite technology, the executive added.

In addition, Neger Telecom designs, deploys and maintains wireless networks, point-to-point and point-multipoint networks as well corporate networks. The company further provides services for mobile telephony operators, offering mobile repeaters for indoor coverage.

Headquartered in the city of Campinas, Neger Telecom has been in operation since 1987.
